In the new season, Ira shocks everyone when he asks Lucia to marry him in a sudden moment, and Tonya oversees Jimmy's sessions as she moves to the workplace as a new and different treatment. Things turn into the gym, where Paul fights in those moments because Mark is completely angry. Mark appears to be angry because Paul rejects some things, which could cause Mark to take a different path.
The revival of Mad About You is a pleasant watch that doesn't try to do too much or remind you of the original series. And, as far as revivals go, that's pretty good.
It's a soft incitement and leads to a soft reboot. It's pretty middle-of-the-road stuff and you never feel like NBC made a mistake in not wanting this reboot
It's kind of fun seeing Reiser and Hunt slip back into these characters, but as is so often true with these exercises, the kick/novelty pretty quickly wears off.
Mad About You should be warm comfort food for fans of the series. For new viewers it's a reminder of what sitcoms were like in the heyday of network television.
Watching Mad About You feels like visiting each and every long-term couple I know - but there's still not much to be said, or that many laughs to be had.
