But that's what This Is Us does really well. It forces us to sit with those seemingly insignificant moments that become embedded into who we are. Scenes like this make Kate's character real. So real that even when I wanted to turn away, I couldn't.
"Pilgrim Rick" does not end on a joyous note, but manages to pack in all the staples of a classic holiday episode: heart-warming nostalgia, bittersweet moments and just the right dose of drama.
