At the start of the new season, it appears that computers are already failing in store to test Y2K compliance, and an abnormality is caused by excerpts that appear to be causing bugs to these notes for Drew on all computer screens. In these moments, the panicked Drew seeks to help the computer expert in the store to get things back again, as expert Hale helps him as he desires.
They've swiveled the spotlight back where it belongs -- on Carey himself, one of the most likable, low-key-hepcat personalities on television. The closer any episode gets to the cool-jerk vibe Carey gives off on talk shows, the better it invariably is.
