Trying to fix her marriage, Allison comes in contact with Noah on a resort where they both where vacating. little did she know that the sparks between them will lead them into more temptations beyond their control.
Having the added benefit of Helen's and Cole's viewpoints adds greatly to the story, and throws a serious wrench into Noah's guilt. There is so much more to this story, and we've only just begun to peel away the layers.
This show, miraculously, is pulling itself away from the more murdery, subjective elements-though obviously, they still exist-and becoming this whole Upstairs/Downstairs dance that I really, really love to watch.
One thing The Affair has been good at since the beginning is not being afraid to expand what is possible within the tight confines of structure the show has established for itself.
Showrunner Sarah Treem places his memories side-by-side against Alison's, which brings up a lot of interesting questions about what we've seen of him thus far.
