With the passing ordeal of having to divorce their partners, Noah and Allison's family move on with life but the pain of their actions is not soon forgotten.
The Affair continues to keep us intrigued, which is always an accomplishment worth noting; we'll definitely be watching as Season 3 proceeds. If only because the show has built up a rich tapestry beyond its most problematic character.
There is just so much TV at this point that The Affair often gets left out of a lot of conversations, but it's plotting like this that should act as a reminder that this show has some of the most strongly defined characters on the medium.
There's barely a single character here you don't want to throttle at some stage, yet such forces make them all utterly compelling, laid bare in their erotic drive, their self-delusions, justifications or gender biases.
Even when I don't agree with all of the show's choices, it's a lot of fun to write about, just because there's so much there. And the performances are always spectacular.
