Season two of the drama series ' Leftover' completes the daily struggle of people in a small town in New York, who do their best to survive, after the horrible disappearance of about 2% of population. Lauri and Tom do their best to save the lives of people.
In the final moments of this episode we finally see a community that's come together out of not just necessity and a need, but also something like love.
What a twist: The Leftovers' second season has a happy ending... The dose of communal happiness was well-deserved after what the show just put everyone through.
They have our trust now. All we can do now is to take time to reflect on the greatness of this season, and make our own cycle back to the first episode that aired 10 weeks back, to marvel, and puzzle and revel in it one more time.
In true Damon Lindelof fashion, not every mystery introduced throughout the ten episodes was answered in "I Live Here Now," but enough were that the finale was more than satisfying.
The Leftovers was the rare treat that got better in its second season. Justin Theroux and Christopher Eccleston both took my breath away with some of the most touching, most powerful performances I've seen on TV all year.
