What a difference a mutiny makes. It was listless until that fateful moment when Candice and Penner stepped off the mat. Then we finally had underdogs to root for.
The twist was abandoned early on and instead, what emerged was a fairly interesting game. Jonathan and Candice took advantage of the "mutiny" twist to switch tribes... They were one of the most likable alliances ever to play the game.
The same old slouching on the beach, nibbling on overcooked fishes, and squabbling about who built a fire and boiled water and who sat around on his fat can and didn't do s***. There were a few memorable moments this season, nonetheless.
Jeff Probst is an excellent host and so ingrained into Survivor, it is impossible to imagine this show without his voice and presence, and he opened the show very well.
That whole final four alliance, actually, was pretty great, with Sundra and Becky. And Jonathan Penner, in his first outing, was a lightning rod for controversy, but was usually right
