Riverdale - Season 2, Episode 05: Chapter Eighteen: When a Stranger Calls
Trailer
Sequel to the ongoing incident, Archie discovered a Vigilante group known as the Red circle, who may be approached to protect Riverdale High students. Meanwhile the coopers just received a comprehensive letter of the shooting.
There have been sexy shower scenes, shirtless dudes, women stripping off clothes...but I'm sorry. Alice Cooper walking into that party is the win of the season.
The mystery and character arcs they play off of keep things interesting the majority of the time, but every once and a while an episode shows up and screws up the curve for the rest of them. Tonight, that episode is "When A Stranger Calls."
Since the premiere, the show's been flailing, capping us off with that Red Circle business (which is so easily forgotten this week I'm even more offended we had to sit through it), but "When A Stranger Calls" is a delightful hour.
Not trying to be glib comparing the fiction of what happened in tonight's episode to real events and the horrific trauma that so many victims out there have had to deal with, but rather speaking of how, planned or not, Riverdale is mirroring our society
When a Stranger Calls is the best of the series so far. It's full of pain and misery, all earned rather than just being cheap, thanks to a pair of plotlines that feel all too familiar.
