The street-wise woman is at it again as she makes effort to safeguard Cosima. However Sarah is also in danger aswell and she must fight to stay alive while trying to escape the complex web. Cosima somehow has met with Delphine.
On the bright side, we did get more clarity on Kira's healing abilities, which have been mysteriously teased since Orphan's early days. And the preview for next week teases Krystal's return, which is joyful news in itself.
Orphan Black's recent efforts to simplify its sprawling mythology are the smartest thing it's done in season five, even if those efforts are about a season and a half late.
This Cophine-centric episode of Orphan Black featured a truly masterful use of flashback, as well as an excellent braiding of the A, B, and C plots in the third act.
The sprinkling of clues and emotional beats between the soapy plot builds the overall narrative and pushes Orphan Black closer and closer to a satisfying conclusion.
"Ease for Idle Millionaires" was an exposition episode that revealed a lot of history and true motivations. I'm glad that we got the answer to some looming questions that have been up in the air since the first season.
"Ease for the Idle Millionaires" pulls at the complex and interconnected threads running through the series, setting the stage for the final half of the season, while also giving Maslany endless opportunities to showcase her incredible talents.
Is there a more apt depiction of the rot at the heart of Neolution than the man running the movement facing down one of his creations, who's just proven herself to be kind and brilliant, and getting angry at her for not helping him live longer?
As a thriller, Orphan Black is highly concerned with questions of trust... And one of the things that gives the show such thematic depth is how readily these social issues map onto its biological ones.
