Orphan Black - Season 5, Episode 01: The Few Who Dare

The street-wise woman is at it again as she makes effort to safeguard Cosima. However Sarah is also in danger aswell and she must fight to stay alive while trying to escape the complex web. Cosima somehow has met with Delphine.
"The Few Who Dare" is a busy episode, and one meant to both remind the audience of where these characters were following last season's finalé, and set up the final episodes of the series. It accomplishes both.
This was a first good start to Orphan Black's final season. The writers kept up with the momentum from the previous season finale and heightened the drama for all of our favorite clones.
The set-up for a more single-plotted final season is certainly laid, but juggling all the characters and their placements from last season made this premiere an awkward bit of necessary logistical shuffling.
There is truly nothing out there like it: female focused, compassionate, and unafraid to ask some big and uncomfortable questions. Based on the strong premiere, that dedication will continue through the final episodes.
Too little time with some of the touchstone performers like S, Felix, and the Hendrixes, as well as scattering most of Clone Club far away from one another, made this episode feel more like a communique than a welcome back to a world we love.
It seems as though the story of Orphan Black is more than ready to make good on wrapping things up once and for all. That makes for a remarkably fast-paced season premiere; one that pushes one particular plot thread through with satisfying results.
