This season is about how a courageous and smart less respectable starship crew defends the Jedi Knights against the evil Galactic Empire that wants to get rid of the last Jedi Knights so they can have full authority over the galaxy.
An abundance of fun, with high-spirited action (including dazzling space battles and impressive lightsaber duels), dry wit, and dramatic contributions to the Star Wars mythology.
Once again hewing closely to the spirit and template of the original, the show continues to revel in the latitude afforded by animation to dole out bountiful helpings of action, garnished with considerable wit and a welcome sense of fun.
I kind of like this new take on Ezra. He started as a pseudo-Chosen-One, smart alec kid, but now he comes across as a more sure-footed Steven Universe, a positive, go-for-broke apprentice that makes for a great little foil.
If you're not watching this then you're missing out - it's far more than just filler while you wait for the films. Rebels is quietly but confidently crafting its own unique take on a galaxy far, far away, and doing a great job in the process.
