The series follows a group of rebels, that band together aboard a freighter starship called 'the Ghost'. While innocent citizens struggle against Imperial oppression, the motley crew of the starship Ghost takes on a new member, street orphan Ezra Bridger. Ezra is a normal boy who finds himself caught up in the beginning of the Rebellion against the Mighty Empire.
It takes awhile to get going, but A New Dawn is ultimately a confidently told story that gives fans a lot of reason to be hopeful about what's to come as we move into this new phase of Star Wars.
Unlike the original movie, the series won't be fun for the whole family. But the two-dimensional dialogue, characters and plots should keep sci-fi-minded kids entertained.
All of the nostalgic aural elements that might stir a dormant fan's heart are there, but the prequels had plenty of that. What those films lacked, and Rebels immediately shows off, is characters you can actually buy into.
