The series takes place in a Gotham City abandoned by the superhero Batman. Now, his legacy lives on in the form of the Birds of Prey, Black Canary, Oracle, and the Huntress.
BOP is an eminently watchable crime-of-the-week diversion, made more so by Ashley Scott's kung-fu spunk as Huntress and Dina Meyer's maturity as the handicapped ex-Batgirl.

The photography, sets and costumes are first-rate, but the acting settles into a glib, amateurish rut. The performers don't sell the illusion; they keep calling attention to it.
