Day of the Jackal

The film deals with a British professional killer named 'Jackal'. This killer appears to have many missions as disgruntled French generals use it to kill Charles de Gaulle. The film follows the trail of this dangerous killer at some point in his life.

Like all Zinnemann's work, this meticulously crafted political thriller is involving but not exciting due to his detached perspective and the fact that we know the outcome, that De Gaulle wasn't assassinated, but it's cast with Europe's best actors.
