Completing the suspense and crimes where the last season stops that follows the struggles of two young courageous and intelligent detectives who unite together, in order to investigate on the mysterious crimes that took place. A new season begins with detective Holder and his new partner; investigate on the mysterious murder of a young teenager girl.
Ultimately AMC chose not to kill The Killing, and the channel may have made the right decision, assuming the rest of the season unfolds as compellingly as Sunday's premiere.
Nothing about it -- not the acting, not the writing, not even the great Ed Bianchi's direction of one-half of the season-three pilot -- justifies such self-importance.
Several episodes in season three stood out as groundbreaking, emotionally-charged and gritty, and a huge improvement over an intermittently decent second season.
Maybe The Killing will hit a firmer stride before crossing this season's finish line. But the feeling persists that executive producer/writer/director Veena Sud again will come up short in what looks to be a last gasp.
