The special wasn't just about the exchange of bodily fluids. If fans were hoping South Park would poke fun at the hell that is Zoom meetings or the controversy surrounding wearing a mask or not, they won't be disappointed.
There's no doubt that some new South Park is better than no South Park at all. Unfortunately, the series' first experiment with a longer, standalone format doesn't really pay off.
South Park returned to a country so beaten down, with the bar set so low, that the '90s parents wringing their fists over the adult subject matter in a cartoon about children seems like the glory days by comparison.
Kudos to "South Park" for being one of the first scripted series to tackle America's new normal head-on, all the while making the case against its very existence.
