After 1,000 years of being frozen, Fry, a young man works as a pizza man and has falsely frozen, has the chance to have a new life in future, the thing that makes him struggle against coping with such a new life. But, incidents come to inspire him when he finds his old dog remains.
Though there were some shaky moments early on, the new episodes of Futurama ultimately reminded us why we wanted the series back so badly in the first place.
In its final moment, Fry plays for Leela with his own hands, at her request: the result is a story told clumsily and not always well, but with passion and love. I can't think of a better note to end on.
To this day, the final image of a crudely drawn Fry and Leela walking hand-in-hand into the sunset remains perhaps one of the most heartwarming images in television history.
