Animated MTV series about two teenage heavy-metal music fans who occasionally do idiotic things because they're bored. For them, everything is 'cool' or 'sucks.'
Butt-head and his even dumber friend Beavis perfectly captured the brains of hormonal, destructive teens-both their general ridiculousness and their biting wit.
Think what you like, but Judge's simple-minded characters speak on a sublevel of how some teens function, and presents a possible maladjusted future for said teens if the parents don't wake up.
It's never been easy explaining why I found the crassness of "B&B" so comforting. Maybe it's because I never had brothers. Maybe I haven't fully grown out of my middle-school mentality. Or maybe it's because Beavis voices things I think but dare not say.
It was pure irony, however unintentional. Beavis and Butt-head deliberately milked that same irony by making fans of the very demographic it was ridiculing.
It's still just as sharp, nihilistic and off-the-wall as ever before, but that's what remains poignant and satirical about the show. Beavis and Butt-Head did whatever they wanted.
