The film revolves around a set of dramatic and sad situations that occur in Eileen's life when her father learns that her mother has cancer. She presses Kate to return to take care of her mother. She works as a writer in the newspaper and comes back to take care of her mother while struggling to continue writing and maintain her relationship with her friend.
