We live here in a series of wonderful comedies that we offer through a group of strange vampires. The series begins with an exciting and comedic look on the daily lives of four vampires. It looks like a whole different life we live through these people who have lived together for more than 100 years, on Staten Island and who have been providing different comedy on the land of that alien island for a long time.
These continuing plots either need to be woven in more deftly and thoroughly or discarded; arguably, the show seems like it wants to be more serialized than it's allowed to be in these early episodes.
What We Do in the Shadows is one of those conceptual comedies with a limited premise that you expect to die off at any moment, but it keeps coming as though it doesn't know how to die.
I do not know if it's as good as the movie... What I do know is that Shadows, the series, is funny -- often deadpan, sometimes quietly droll, sometimes howl-at-the-moon hilarious.
