This was easily my favorite episode - so far - of the season. The writers did a great job at balancing the more prominently featured characters... with those who tend to get a lot less screen time.
"Sing Me a Song" shows what TWD can accomplish when it sets out to make an episode of television that moves the plot forward every minute of its running time.
Sing Me a Song is an above-average episode with enough interesting or fun little moments to remind us why we keep coming back (Michonne! Negan getting slapped in the chops! Father Gabriel!).
With a loose structure, some baffling writing choices and that Spencer character who just won't die, this could have been a bad episode of television, but it all surprisingly works.
"Sing Me a Song" had a story that was practically ripped from the pages of The Walking Dead comic book. That should be a good thing, and yet long stretches of the episode were oddly boring.
How all these come to a head next week is yet to be seen. But things don't look good for our heroes...The bad guy is in your gates already, and he's got the weakest among you sitting on his lap.
