Jonathan pine is an ex military soldier turn hotel manager but when he is recruited into the intelligence agent he must help infiltrate an international arms dealer network.
In AMC's thoroughly enjoyable miniseries The Night Manager, Laurie, with a healthy tan and clear blue eyes, is perfectly beguiling and chilling as a billionaire arms dealer selling everything from guns to napalm during the Arab spring.
... the performances and the suspenseful direction by Susanne Bier keeps the viewer riveted, while the handsome production and the gorgeous stars give it a gritty glamor.
The production and performances really do deserve such adulation, but the miniseries itself feels like a rather by-the-book spy story - which, notably, it is; an acknowledgment that means even more when you consider the author of said book is [Carre].
