We live some events of drama and more comedy with Maya and Anna. The story begins with the twins in the first day of seventh grade in the year 2000. School rejects. After some days, they will face unexpected attention from people that will change the life. On the other hand, They are faced with the age-old question: stay home and play pretend or go out and do drugs?
It feels so authentic that it actually borders on suffocating at times. Luckily, it's also very funny; Erskine in particular seems destined for big things.
"PEN15" is incredibly smart about the way it explores the social dynamics shaping (and being shaped by) young adults - in this case, in the early 2000s.
PEN15 rolls out like a sketch show, flying from one awkward, funny little moment to the next, until it dawns on you that there's a certain dearth of "so what" to it.
