Orphan Black - Season 3, Episode 02: Transitory Sacrifices of Crisis
Trailer
An orphan gets caught up in a deadly conspiracy after learning that she is a clone. Just as Sarah and her clone sisters were beginning to piece together the complex conspiracy behind the shadowy Dyad Institute, the discovery of Project Castor – a top-secret military project producing highly-trained male clones – throws their lives back into turmoil.
It's a new day with new phones in Orphan Black, but yesterday's troubles have followed Sarah Manning and her sisters into their new uneasy alliance with the Dyad Institute.
There is no other show on television that's trying to tackle gender constructs and expectations on such a detailed level, and for that, Orphan Black will always be more compelling.
After 22 episodes of mounting questions and very few real answers, the reason I'm still here is to hang out with the women behind the clones, not necessarily the knowledge of how they came to be or the dangers that are threatening their very existence.
The good news is that these early episodes now seem to be working at (albeit slowly) steering the series into a slightly new direction, using familiar plotlines as a means to ease the transition.
Sure, Ari Millen and Tatiana Maslany did more than their share of this week's heavy lifting, but there was something comforting about watching Felix play nurse to a broken Mrs. S.
