It is a series of events that embody the life of Frank Tagliano, one of the pioneers of the American mafia. Frank decided to move to the isolated rural Lillehammer in Norway, where he went through this experiment in order to try to start a new life after testifying in a trial against a new mafia boss at that time.
The Lilyhammer pilot was so different than anything else on television right now that you might want to stream the final seven episodes to see what happens.
I wouldn't say Lilyhammer is worth signing up for Netflix to see, but if you're already paying for it and you like Van Zandt - and Norwegian knits - it's certainly worth a look.
