A mysterious orb trapped Haller, needing his abilities. Farouk uses this conditions to start his plan of control the world but not in the presence of Division III which cooperate with Summerland allies to stop him.
The show wants to move past its well-polished veneer by introducing a greater sense of urgency to the narrative. It's still prone to lengthy digressions, but those departures reveal an attempt to dig deeper and to find something substantive.
But it's a bold vision for a genre where conflict usually boils down to muscular guys beating on each other. And it's what makes this season of Legion among the most subversive television you'll see this year.
