A new season full of conflicts and fierce rivalries that we live in quite differently from two of the rising drivers who take risks in the 'Dash for the Cash'. On the other hand, the old Hugh and Alex, along with Rick Yemm, seem to be leaving Alaska behind them to take some of the most remote routes and perhaps they will experience the most deadly bloody experience on the planet automatically.
Despite a certain cheesiness and tendency toward hyperbole (invariably reaching a fever-pitch at each cliffhanger commercial break), Ice Road Truckers is a fun and interesting show, and Season Five is consistently watchable.
