Along the way, Asher tries to walk away from his role as mole for Annalise's arch nemesis, Michaela admits to never having achieved orgasm and oh man, there's really enough plot in "It's Called the Octopus" to fill three or four recaps.
The courtroom scenes do deserve the eye rolls they got from me, but they don't detract from the overall story "It's Called The Octopus"... [the episode] remains sharp and intelligent, and the silliness of a few isolated moments doesn't erase that.
People are starting to discover that Annalise is both self-centered and selfish. She does have feelings, but she is certainly not empathetic. And, oftentimes, she only looks out for herself, making her the perfect anti-hero of this show.
How to Get Away with Murder continues to engage with the increasing depth and complications of its characters, for better or worse. "It's Called the Octopus" will surely not the last time the series will intertwine sex and violence so directly.
All I know is I'm sad that Bonnie and Asher are done for the moment. The only silver lining: Bonnie and Laurel go out and bond. Laurel admits her feelings for Frank. Yay!
In addition to a sex soaked case of the week, How to Get Away with Murder Season 2 Episode 3 blessed us with an abundance of new information relevant to the big cases of the season.
