"The Tameness of a Wolf" felt like the "Empire" of last spring. It touched on identity ("If you don't put your whole truth into this video, what is the damn point?"), daddy issues, mental health, race and money.
This week's episode of Empire was yet another doozey on the emotional roller coaster - one that practically throws you head-first off the tracks. With a theme of family, we see many new plotlines develop.
Tonight's episode of Empire, entitled "The Tameness of A Wolf," allowed viewers to see a very vulnerable side of Lucious, and just how much he depends on Cookie for strength.
Empire has always been a show about family issues -- that's literally the whole point. But this week, families tangential to the Lyons' came into the mix, too.
To paraphrase Aretha Franklin, there ain't no way to not have your heart break a little for the child who grew up homeless in the streets of Philadelphia and turned to selling drugs to avoid eating out of trashcans. (And that's not even the worst part...)
