Convinced to participate in the competition, in order to get on a visa, Johnnie, an illegal alien violinist, who during his performance in the subway, lost his violin, the thing that leads Ruby, a young talented dancer in a Performing Arts School in Manhattan, to help him to win the competition.
Arts movie High Strung has a goofy script and a clichéd plot, but the dance sequences and musical performances are memorable, ambitious, and highly enjoyable.
