A comedy and exciting animation movie that follows The Grinch who has a bad plan to ruin this year’s Christmas in Whoville. He is helped by his trusted canine Max and his new pet reindeer Fred. They begin by stealing the gifts but a young girl named Cindy may uncover this sneaky scheme.
You're a Mediocre One, Mr. Grinch. Those expecting Cumberbatch to add a little Dr. Strange to his take on Dr. Seuss will be sorely disappointed as this animated take on the Grinch buries its kid audience under a blanket of bland..
"The Grinch" is beautiful to look at, and diverting enough. The material written to fill out the story is entertaining, but it doesn't resonate. You can't top what Seuss wrote.
It does not surpass the Chuck Jones version (or having the book read aloud by a parent, which is still ideal) but it is far superior to the Carrey film and should become a welcome family tradition.
