But miraculously, in less than a year, Robson was running the legendary FC Barcelona, the team he had won many championships. Robson has participated in many tournaments and brought his country to England many tournaments and was a role model in training.
In this affectionate and moving documentary... the late Sir Bobby Robson emerges both as likeable and as far more driven and astute than was sometimes recognised during his lengthy coaching career.
The journalistic level of the talking heads interviews in the film-and the anecdotes they come up with-is unusually rich, but that's down to Robson's inspirational quality.
Slightly faint praise perhaps (there are a couple of Scots ahead of him), but Torquil Jones and Gabriel Clarke's poignant documentary demonstrates the foolishness of underestimating the avuncular Geordie...
