In a tragic story about an orphan girl named Annie. The story of Annie began when she lived in a miserable orphanage run by the tyrannical Miss Hannigan. One day, Annie is chosen to spend a short time at the residence of the wealthy weapons funds, Oliver Warsbucks. It seems that Annie is an innocent girl inspired by all the fury, drawing the hearts of everyone, including Warpax, who has decided to help Annie find her long-lost parents by offering a reward to those who seek and find them. After this happens, Ms. Honeygan and her brother and her partner plan to impersonate these persons to receive the reward.
The movie offers an insulting 'let them eat cake' gesture toward the 1982 audience, but the pacing is so ragged and the characters so lifeless that few will be able to stay awake long enough to feel offended.
The songs never take off into anything very much, the whole atmosphere (apart from the climax) is distinctly stagebound, and Huston merely reveals why he had never before in his long career been hired to make a musical.
Tale of cute orphan is great for the whole family.

What makes "Annie" so winning is that, while it could have easily been just another cutesy-poo Hollywood musical, it happens to be as gritty, genial and boisterous as little Annie herself.
