A drama series explores more powerful events facing Ralph Lamb, a former MP for the US Army. Ralph decided to become a police mayor. On the other hand, things turn completely when Vincent Savino comes from Chicago to Vegas to operate the Savoy Hotel and Casino during that time.
With so many exciting elements - top-notch cast, setting, and writer, not to mention a fantastic-looking re-creation of the old strip - why does Vegas feel so dull?
CBS' sustained level of series craftsmanship is certainly admirable. But that doesn't go so far when even a sweeping period piece in a distinct locale with superior stars seems to roll off the same assembly line.
Vegas has a lot of things going for it: star power, period ambience, and a compelling central conflict. But despite all that, the show doesn't feel like it's hit the jackpot.
