Based on the life of a small family, who do their best to care of their young daughter, Rosie, who suffers from having chromosomes disorder, who help her to deal with outside world and getting recovery.
There She Goes is a very realistic view of parenthood, and of the hardships and joys of raising someone with special needs. It's hilarious and tough to take, just like parenthood is, and that's a good thing.
A mere formality, this, but of course Tennant and Hynes are every bit as sensitive and engaging as you'd expect in this, and work exceptionally well together.
There She Goes is a triumph, itch-lousy with one-liners, heartache, bathos, curses and much spilt milk, as far from mawkish as, say, David Sedaris is from the language of Hallmark cards.
It couldn't be more well-meaning if it tried, and the performances of Hynes and Tennant are lovely... But what is a drama for, if not to entertain? This one never quite does that.
