The life story of the Israeli spy, Eli Cohen. Cohen began his espionage work in 1961 in Syria and he managed to trick many important political figures there. Till 1965, his real identity was uncovered and he was sentenced to death. The government hanged him in public at the famous Syrian square, Damascus.
Sacha Baron Cohen provides another reminder that being a clown requires serious acting chops, which the famous prankster puts to use in "The Spy," a taut Netflix limited series based on a pretty remarkable true story.
The Spy is definitely not as flashy as a James Bond or Jason Bourne thriller but makes up for action with truly nail-biting moments.Too deliberately paced for the big screen but feels more like a feature film than a television series.
The Spy is another high-wire act from the nonpareil screen presence, albeit a shakier one that often lives and dies on the actor's very particular set of skills.
