The series takes after a warrior from the ancient Maori times. With the help of a young brave woman, this warrior tries to stop a dangerous evil that seeks to rise up again after many years. The story is based on film from 2014, The Dead Lands.
Overall, this is the strongest episode of an already strong series. It builds out the mythology of its world while also building out existing characters and introducing new ones that stand out and don't fade to the background.
