The series takes after a warrior from the ancient Maori times. With the help of a young brave woman, this warrior tries to stop a dangerous evil that seeks to rise up again after many years. The story is based on film from 2014, The Dead Lands.
The locations are nicely photographed, the action and production values are solid and our two protagonists - heroine and anti-hero - show potential for some charismatic chemistry.
