Liz is recruited into the FBI but surprisingly Raymond Reddington, on the FBI's Top Ten Most Wanted List turns himself in and insists on speaking to her raising a lot of mystery.
Hopefully with the Fulcrum out of the bag and Liz's past more filled in than ever, the show won't spend quite as much time this year with vague hints of reveals to come and concern itself more with what Red's up to right now.
It should never be doubted that Red always has a plan, but even those plans can go awry when an unknown variable gets in the way; such as wayward sister of one of Red's "associates" who initially helps them hide out from the citywide manhunt.
Despite the obvious centrality of Red and James Spader's performance, The Blacklist has a solid bench of supporting players just waiting to be used properly.
