Sequel to the previous season this season begins with Jax trying to cope with events with Jax while trying to maintain his loyalty to the clubs even as it encounters many ups and downs.
I will definitely miss good old Bobs, but in all fairness there was really nowhere left for his story to go (other than to perhaps give more terrible advice to Wendy).
These beats have become so familiar by now that there isn't much drama left in them that doesn't revolve around shocking us with some creative new ugliness. There's no sense of creeping dread.
Sons of Anarchy has been an emotional roller-coaster, like riding shotgun with someone who only slams on the pedals, and that's best displayed in this week's Gemma (UGH Gemma) storyline.
"We need to handle him with leverage, not blood," [Jax] says. While that sounds tidy and civilized, it's safe to assume that in Sons of Anarchy, it always ends in blood.
With the episode closing on Abel lying awake in his bed, the question, then, becomes: Is the story of Sons of Anarchy really going to hinge on who will tattle on grandma/Gemma first?
Anyone familiar with the tenacious brutality of August Marks (Billy Brown) knew it was only a matter of time before he punished SAMCRO for all of their extracurricular tomfoolery.
