In an attempt to see his beloved wife, who has just delivered his first child, the thing that makes his happiness, Prince Francis II, who prepares for his coronation, does his best to leave the court, but he struggles against the plague that witnesses an increasing spread lately, leading the lives of many to death.
After a rollercoaster freshman season, the series reshuffled the deck with "The Plague," a densely plotted episode that worked almost as a standalone outing but also went far in establishing new threads for Reign's sophomore year.
This is also a show that's unafraid to directly examine power, which is one of the reasons it's succeeded as more than a compendium of ridiculous moments.
