It is a series of dramatic events that embody the story of the Farrells family, a family of strangers who have been in these parts and deal with matters more challengingly. These people live outside the network and above the law, and they may be willing to use whatever means necessary to protect their way of life in their city.
If you can get past the thick accents there's a wealth of multifaceted characters to root for and enough story to keep you entertained during the inaugural run.
An exhausting trek through mountain muck. An epic American tragedy may be concealed behind all those bad teeth and worse accents, but in the early going (I've seen only one episode) the slog toward uncovering it is unbearable.
Well, it's not great, but it's okay. The multiple storylines, some slow-burning intrigue and plenty of tension make something reasonably watchable. Whether that's enough to sustain it for 13 episodes remains to be seen.
