After the last seasons, season 3 completes the struggling incidents of a young single mother, Christy, who has two children, Violet and Roscoe, as she struggles against raising them well, in a bad community, but during her struggle, incidents come to frustrate her, as her mother, who is always criticising her and giving her negative energy, comes to live with her.
With a few ballsy plot lines under its belt and an assured step in the right direction in the season three premiere, Mom may come off as occasionally familiar in its formatting, but content wise it feels downright groundbreaking.
It remains a throwback to '70s and '80s comedies like "All in the Family," "Taxi," and even "Cheers," which took their characters seriously enough to be comfortable with purely dramatic scenes, which in turn only makes the laughter feel more potent.
