The second season will look very exciting. We begin to open the files of that issue, which aroused great controversy. Bowerhouse lawyer Kathleen Zellner returns to open the Stephen case, and forensic experts at Kathleen review the evidence. Kathleen is testing Steven in new ways and visiting the crime scene on a new mission that seems harder.
As a documentary, though, Making a Murderer is undeniably gripping and well-constructed. As it did with its first season, it makes an extremely persuasive case for what would amount to an astonishing miscarriage of justice.
In many ways, this is now a cautionary tale of just how much influence the media can have on a criminal case. If you are looking for insights or new evidence to add to what was presented the first time around, you will be disappointed.
But even thrust under the spotlight, strictly as a docu-series imbued with the compulsive, binge-worthy qualities of a thriller, Part 2 doesn't disappoint.
