Friday the 13th: The Series is required viewing that's perfect fodder for a dark stormy night at home. It packs enough murder, mayhem, and ludicrously big hair to satisfy any Eighties horror buff.
Pre-CG, the effects here are a blend of the practical and the composite, and while they look clunky and outdated by today's standards, there's a sense of reality that ultimately permits them to remain effectively scary.
