Season 2 opens with new surprises. Leonardo Da Vinci travels around the world to get the mystery book and Lorenzo tries to rescue Florence and Clarisse is struggling to control the Medici Bank, and Lucrezia arrives at the destination you want and meets someone on the way. On the other hand, a new Osman attack on Italy and there is still a danger chasing the Rario. Nico seems to be the only person who can control what is happening to Vanessa without question.
Da Vinci's Demons is still a whole heck of a lot of fun -- and for a premium cable period piece airing on a Saturday night, fun is all you can ask for.
The show returns for a second season that ups the ante on swashbuckling and arcane mythology, while continuing to cleverly use the famed artist/inventor's innovations as a blueprint.
What it lacked in thematic substance it more than made up for in content and did a great job of building on the energy of the conclusion to Season 1 while also setting up the journey for Season 2.
Da Vinci's Demons tells a compelling and well-crafted story, with religious drama, political intrigue and a cast of strong characters swirling around Da Vinci, one of the most creative people who ever lived.
