The difficult events are still going on in the life of a pregnant teenager walking on the road with her dreaming boy boyfriend, who gives up at the Wal-Mart store in Oklahoma. He left her alone with almost no money, hiding in the store for 6 weeks until her baby was born. During her pregnancy and stay at this store she got new friends. She also became a friend of Wal-Mart's photographer, who led him to a career.
Unfortunately, the spirited performances (notably Stockard Channing as the benevolent Sister Husband) buckle under the weight of the implausibly overloaded script.
