A wife called Bernie is invited to a talk-show informed that her husband is having an affair with her friend. To forget this shock, Birdee and her daughter Bernice moves to the family house. In her grandmother’s funeral, Bernice is told by her father that his mother relationship is over and he cannot take her with him.
At times heartwarming home-town kitsch, at other times predictable puppy-love pablum for the young and recently separated, Hope Floats... but just barely.
In order for us to believe in the future and to step into it with buoyancy, we need the nurturing support of those nearest and dearest to us. Then hope floats.
