It is the story of the USN Indianapolis, which was bombed and sunk by a Japanese submarine. The film embodies the story of the ship that sank 300 crew members to the bottom of the Philippine sea. While waiting for the rescue, it appears that all of these have been subjected to extreme thirst, hunger and shark attacks everywhere in the sea.
The script by Cam Cannon and co-producer Richard Rionda Del Castro is frustratingly unfocused, jumping from incident to incident while using Cage's flat, whispered narration to fill the gaps.
Every expense has been spared: The sets are either claustrophobically limited or anonymously empty; the period detail is nonexistent; and the special effects are on par with a Syfy original.
