The life of Troll Village is depicted in the film, with a plenty of important events and stories. The most important of them is the one in which rough Branch agrees to have a journey in order to have her friends saved. The story is complemented with original music by Justin Timberlake.
"Trolls" isn't likely to advance mankind in any significant way, but it's a harmless adventure with a few toe-tapping musical numbers and a positive message of togetherness and teamwork.
But in this new Hollywood animated children's film, Trolls are small, incurably sweet and dedicated to singing, dancing and hugging. They're so happy, they make the Smurfs looks like a bunch of French existentialists stuck in a no-smoking zone.
"Trolls" combines dreadful kindergarten humor (one troll poops cupcakes) with a feeble plot, much padded with high-fructose-corn-syrup versions of pop and R&B classics.
Filled with vibrant imagery & wall to wall with choice pop song selections, there is much to like yet not quite enough to fall head first in love with.
